چکیده

This study investigated the contribution of anthropogenic emission benzene from petroleum refineries to Nigerian’s ambient air quality with view understanding impact production facilities on host airshed. The Activities four existing and 22 proposed in Nigeria were obtained Department Petroleum Resources these combined factors different units at estimate emissions. No-control-measure option (worst case scenario) was assumed because lack information control efficiency refineries. revealed that two one oil-producing cities released a total 10.01 × 1011 tons/year into city, apart additional 2.35 1013 anticipated be three same community. If operated full capacity, estimated stood 5.50 while have capacity releasing 16.73 ton/year. On overall, yearly basis Nigerian airshed 22.24 tons. These concentrations if not checked could lead devastating environmental issues. Some mitigating measures suggested subsequently abate

assessment of the efficiency of s.p.g.c refineries using network dea

data envelopment analysis (dea) is a powerful tool for measuring relative efficiency of organizational units referred to as decision making units (dmus). in most cases dmus have network structures with internal linking activities. traditional dea models, however, consider dmus as black boxes with no regard to their linking activities and therefore do not provide decision makers with the reasons...

Evaluation of Seasonal and Spatial Variations of Air Quality Index and Ambient Air Pollutants in Isfahan Using Geographic Information System

Introduction: Due to more than 1.7 million population, many vehicles and large industries around Isfahan, it has become one of the most polluted cities in Iran. The aim of this study was a spatial analysis of the concentrations of air pollutants and the air quality index (AQI). Materials and Methods: In this descriptive and evaluative study, the air quality data of 7 monitoring stations in 201...

Hazardous air pollutants and asthma.

Asthma has a high prevalence in the United States, and persons with asthma may be at added risk from the adverse effects of hazardous air pollutants (HAPs). Complex mixtures (fine particulate matter and tobacco smoke) have been associated with respiratory symptoms and hospital admissions for asthma. The toxic ingredients of these mixtures are HAPs, but whether ambient HAP exposures can induce a...

Hazardous Air Pollutants Special Report

While recent reports have commented on the elevated ambient levels of hazardous air pollutants (HAPs) in certain areas of Houston, relative to other cities, few studies have assessed the health effects of HAPs for Houstonians and none have evaluated the association between ambient levels of these pollutants and lymphohematopoietic cancer risk in this population. To begin to address this deficit...

Development and analysis of air quality modeling simulations for hazardous air pollutants

The concentrations of five hazardous air pollutants were simulated using the community multi-scale air quality (CMAQ) modeling system. Annual simulations were performed over the continental United States for the entire year of 2001 to support human exposure estimates. Results are shown for formaldehyde, acetaldehyde, benzene, 1,3-butadiene and acrolein. Photochemical production in the atmospher...
